When it comes to baseball, there are certain catches that stop you dead in your tracks. Whether the player dove deep, climbed the wall, got into the crowd, or simply won the game, these fantastic catches live on in our memories forever.

Here are 9 of the most impressive catches in the history of the MLB that no one will forget any time soon.

Joba Chamberlain caught an impressive bunt down the third base line when playing for the Yankees against the Cleveland Indians, who he would eventually go on to play for.

The catch, made on June 1, 2009, during the fifth inning, was followed up by a double play that led directly to the Yankee’s victory that day.

Left fielder J.B. Shuck for the Los Angeles Angels, made an incredible catch against the Toronto Blue Jays on August 2, 2013, in the fourth inning.

He went up and over the short porch in left field and landed on fans in order to make this catch, and even went on to hit the game-tying triple that would eventually lead the Angels to victory.

Billy Hamilton

Center fielder Billy Hamilton for the Cincinnati Reds made the catch of a lifetime against the St. Louis Cardinals on July 13, 2018.

Hamilton ran up the wall to catch a ball hit by Matt Carpenter to end the inning, and the Reds went on to win the game.

Brian Giles

Brian Giles of the Pittsburgh Pirates made headlines on June 21, 2003, for his catch against the Cleveland Indians during the eighth inning when the Pirates were down by one.

To get the catch, Biles put his foot into the wall and reached into the second row of the stands. The Pirates went on to win the game, all thanks to this incredible catch.

Outfielder Gary Matthews Jr. made one of the best catches ever recorded when he played for the Texas Rangers against the Houston Astros on July 1, 2006.

It looked like he had rocket launchers in his cleats when he jumped up and over the wall to steal Mike Lamb’s home run. Lamb was so impressed that he actually stood on home plate and clapped for his opponent!

Ichiro Suzuki

Seattle Mariners right fielder Ichiro is known for his impressive catches, but the catch he made on May 2, 2005, against the Los Angeles Angels is the one absolutely everyone remembers.

In the seventh inning, the Mariners were down five, and Ichiro jumped so high that half of his body was over the right-field wall saving Seattle from losing another two points.

Jim Edmonds

On September 28, 2014, Washington Nationals left fielder Steven Souza Jr. made an absolutely unbelievable catch in the ninth inning against the Miami Marlins.
